With nearly 30 years of combined law enforcement experience, David and Ken have dedicated their careers to Emergency Management. Certified by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and FEMA, they bring expert knowledge in crisis response, risk mitigation, and staff training.
Now, they are sharing their expertise to help organizations prepare for any crisis while also equipping staff with the skills to respond effectively. Both David and Ken have extensive training in Active Shooter Response for civilians, ensuring your team is ready when it matters most.
ABOUT US
David and Ken began their law enforcement careers in 2011, meeting on their first day at the Academy. They quickly bonded over a shared passion—helping people in need. As they rose through the ranks, they realized a fundamental flaw in policing: officers often respond to crises after they’ve happened, rather than preventing them.
Year after year, they watched as active shooter incidents and other catastrophic events increased across schools, businesses, houses of worship, and healthcare facilities. Instead of focusing solely on response, they knew the key to saving lives was preparation.
David took on a role with the Town of Greenwich Department of Health, developing Emergency Preparedness Plans for the community. Ken joined a Police Department committee focused on school safety and crisis planning. Together, they founded First 5 Consulting, bringing real-world experience to those who need it most—helping organizations proactively prepare for emergencies before they happen.
